2023 Thus Far

Cedric started 6th grade this year!
On a sunny morning this is our classroom:

Angela celebrated a birthday in February - we tried out a new Mexican restaurant in our little town (not a normal food option here!). It was good, not spicy!

Renewed friendship - Amaia is visiting from Spain, the first year we tried homeschooling we spent a lot of time with her. They were neighbors also educating at home.
There's a new youth group in town! Our church has started one for 10-15 year olds. Kick off event was at our place. Kids had a blast.

We went to our friend's quinceaƱera birthday party. It's a special event here when a girl turns 15. Almost like a wedding!
It was a great time to catch up with old friends.

Christmas Trip 2022

We headed off to the other side of the Pacific to spend Christmas with Angela's family. 2/3 of the family was able to be together, enjoying the beauty of New Zealand and precious, rare time together!
(FYI: if you click on a picture it will enlarge!)

Angela's parents live in the Bay of Plenty - here we are enjoying fish-n-chips at the beach.
Angela's brother's family flew in from England.
The 5 cousins at Nana and Papa's house in their Christmas PJs.

Good times, even on rainy days at the beach.

Lots of soccer/football was played.

Sweet visits with cousins, aunties and uncles.

We saw many of our kiwi friends, but many we had to leave to the next trip!

We had a brief weekend layover in Southern California and caught up with our dear friends there.

On our way home we discovered a bonus to being delayed and trapped on the ground in a plane for several hours: Cedric enjoyed half an hour chatting with our pilot and learning a wee bit of how airplanes work!
