Meaningful Visits To Outreach Family Homes
Each day after the children's activity we would clean up the church space and then head out to one of the homes for a visit.
We visited a 10 year old boy's home where he lives with his single mother and his 18 year old sister. His mother accepted Christ earlier this year during Bible study with Ingrid.
We visited two homes where the mom is a Venezuelan woman who has settled down with a Colombian man, each one has one child who attends the Kids' Outreach. Both of them have been influenced by the Jehovah's Witnesses but are not at peace with their teachings. They also attend the mother's Wednesday Bible study and are close to accepting the Lord.We encountered an unusual situation for most of the immigrants we know in the last home we visited: the parents are legally married! They have a teenage son, 2 school age boys and a 2 year old girl. They had also been involved with JWs in Venezuela but had a bad experience so re not with them anymore. They are very open and have attended several meetings since our visit.
- arrived and squished into their tiny living rooms
- the mother shared a bit of their story and her spiritual journey
- one of the team shared their testimony
- we asked for prayer requests and prayed
- we gave them groceries
- we shared that the gift is food for a moment, but that God offers nourishment for eternity
- we took a picture and departed
