Bucaramanga Easter Trip

It was a rich and happy visit!

Bill:
"it was a rewarding trip ~ spending my mornings playing with my boy in the warm tropical climate and then sharing God's word in the evenings at the Easter conference."

Angela:
"I loved cooking meals undistractedly (read: without a little fellow under foot!) and cherished being in my childhood hometown with dear friends."

Cedric:
"play ~ park ~ cat ~ water ~ ball"

Last day in town we went for a swim in the pool where I had my lessons when I was a girl. Cedric was a bit under the weather, so he and Bill crashed for awhile in the shade.

Lemons!

One of our favorite toppings on pancakes is powdered sugar with lemon juice ~ actually, it's lime juice since we don't get yellow lemons here!

Making Music!

Bill was about to replace one of the shower heads, so Cedric got to figure out its other uses first.

Just pictures!

Playing at his new table - a late Christmas gift.

"Best" neighbor friend. They always look for each other at the playground. Sharon is 5 years old and wants to treat Cedric like her play doll. He just squawks every time she tries to pick him up, but loves her anyway!

It's all in the details. Playing with sand.

Joy.

Stuck inside baking on a rainy day.

Our Christmas "Staycation"

This year we had a pretty busy few weeks prior to Christmas, but then things calmed down and we were able to enjoy a couple of quiet weeks at home here in Bogota. Here are some pictures from the past month.

At the church Christmas program. The Sunday School put on a nice musical from the story of Noah and the Ark. The kids all dressed up as animals. Although he didn't end up "performing", Cedric was chosen to be a little beaver.

Christmas Eve - opening one gift, the traditional PJs!

Christmas day - Cedric was enthralled by all the festivities.

Playing with Andrew after Christmas lunch.

Boxing Day (26th Dec) - we went out on the town to view the Christmas lights with some friends.

And in January our Christmas care packages finally started showing up. So fun to get surprises by mail!

Warm laundry mornings and Momma turns the kitchen into a mini water park!

Lazy afternoons reading books with Daddy.

Just enjoying our beautiful sunny days with a few family outings to local parks and malls.

Church Day Retreat

We had a one day retreat recently for the members of our church. Not everyone could make it, but about 100 of us met together at a school in the north of the city (ECA). In the morning there were various sessions and workshops, all with the purpose of edifying and encouraging everyone to continue to find balance in life and perseverance in ministry.

I was in about half the sessions, the rest of the time I was playing outside with the wee boys.

It was a beautiful sunny morning, but then the rain poured down all afternoon. It didn't stop many of the men from playing soccer... the rest cheered from the sheltered sidelines!

Playdate

We had friends come visit us last Saturday, it was a lot of fun!

Cedric has this thing where he shows affection by sprawling on top of the person (or animal) he wants to cuddle up to. So far none of the objects of his affection have really appreciated it!

Hee, hee... can you tell I'm not used to taking care of THREE kids by myself!?

Here's a photo of my cutie that I haven't posted elsewhere yet.
